Exploring Greece presents numerous opportunities, making it challenging to decide where to start. Although the internet is filled with great deals, we’ll focus on introducing you to a captivating Greek villa that promises tranquility in the peaceful village of Megalochori on Santorini Island. Villa Anemolia, renovated to meet the needs of modern travelers seeking solace in secluded spots, embodies a stylish resurgence of Greek hospitality.
Previously a traditional home, Villa Anemolia was transformed by the Greek studio MplusM into a welcoming accommodation. The hotel’s primary design focuses on simplicity and comfort. By preserving the original rooms and incorporating built-in storage solutions, MplusM revitalized the villa and its surroundings, creating an ideal space for relaxation.
“The three vaulted rooms underwent minimal changes. We removed all old furniture and installed built-in beds and wardrobes that blend with the walls, along with wooden sofa beds in the living area. Traditional vaulted structures in Santorini are typically embedded in volcanic soil, with windows opening only to the courtyard. Therefore, we added new light sources: skylights and small wall recesses with embedded lights provide dispersed illumination from hidden sources. Newly planted areas in the courtyard and on the roof terrace enhance the outdoor spaces, offering a picturesque backdrop for a delightful stay.”
