Are your flights leading to more chaos than calm? A new service at Denver Airport, with plans for expansion across the U.S. in 2018, aims to transform your stressful airport waits into moments of tranquility.
Yoga on the Fly®, the first private airport yoga studio of its kind, offers yoga and meditation practices tailored for modern travelers. Whether you have a long layover, a delay, or want to relax before your flight, Yoga on the Fly® provides instructional videos, yoga mats, and wireless headsets, helping you escape the mental and physical strains of travel.
Founded by Elizabeth Feinstone and Avery Westlund, who connected during a yoga retreat in Nicaragua over their shared love of travel and mutual dislike of its adverse effects, this innovative service was born.
“We are excited to introduce the world’s first guided private yoga and meditation experience within airports,” said Feinstone. “Our goal is to enhance the passenger and staff experience by providing an accessible break from travel chaos.”
At participating airports, Yoga on the Fly® offers a reception area, private studio rooms, and a curated selection of athleisure wear and mindful travel accessories. Classes range from 8 to 20 minutes and include yoga, meditation, and breathwork via instructional iPad videos. Sessions can be combined for longer durations or to address specific travel-related issues like poor circulation, muscle aches, or anxiety.
Jet lag, a common travel issue, can be mitigated with a few simple yoga poses that are easy to do on the go, according to Feinstone and Westlund.
The Denver studio of Yoga on the Fly® initially launched with a 90-day residency for the holiday season. It operates from Sunday to Friday, 7 am to 9 pm, and Saturday, 7 am to 7 pm. Session prices range from $15 to $60 based on the duration of studio time desired.
