The Corfu Suite at Blakes Hotel London, with its bright, airy ambiance, high ceilings, and pristine white elegance, has become a beloved destination for honeymooners. It has also captivated the boutique hotel experts at Mr and Mrs Smith, who awarded this French Provencal suite the title of the world’s most alluring hotel bedroom.
To celebrate their tenth anniversary, the online booking platform curated a list of their preferred properties worldwide, categorizing them by the best Smith hotel, most alluring bedroom, trendiest hotel bar, and finest hotel restaurant. The winners were selected based on over 50,000 votes, refined by the editorial team.
Room 505 at Blakes Hotel London, self-proclaimed as the first boutique hotel globally, was crafted by Anouska Hempel, a London-based hotelier and interior designer known for her work on the flagship Louis Vuitton store in Paris and Van Cleef & Arpels retail locations.
Mary Garvin, head of curation at Mr and Mrs Smith, remarked, “There’s a significant leap from the streets of London to the bedrooms of Blakes. They’re extraordinarily exotic, intricate, and escapist—the ideal boudoir.”
Claiming the title of Best Smith Hotel was The Post Ranch Inn, a boutique establishment perched 1,200 feet (365 meters) above the Pacific Ocean on the rugged cliffs of Big Sur. Designed to highlight its natural surroundings, features like the freestanding Cliff House include a deck overhanging the cliffs, a glass-walled bedroom, and an outdoor stainless steel hot tub, all offering expansive ocean views.
Luxurious Tree Houses, elevated 9 feet (2.7 meters) above the forest floor, provide an adult version of the overnight experience with a king-size bed, fireplace, and skylight for nighttime stargazing.
