The renowned Four Seasons Hotel George V in Paris is offering guests a special wine tasting experience with Eric Beaumard in its exclusive wine cellar.
Once a month, Eric Beaumard, who is the Director of Le Cinq restaurant and a silver medalist in the 1998 World’s Best Sommelier championship, will host the event at the George V Wine Cellar. By candlelight, Beaumard will discuss the flavors of three types of wine: red, white, and Champagne.
The Wine Cellar, housing over 50,000 bottles, boasts vintage collections with more than 2,200 varieties of French and international wines, kept at optimal temperatures and humidity levels.
The hour-long tasting will include gougère puff pastries, charcuterie, and cheese. Beaumard, overseeing the Wine Cellar and Le Cinq restaurant since the Four Seasons Hotel George V reopened in 1999, says, “It is a unique and privileged way to discover one of the most beautiful wine cellars of Paris while exploring wines from the French vineyards perhaps unknown to wine amateurs.”
The intimate setting of the George V Wine Cellar, located 46 feet underground in a former stone quarry that supplied stones for the Arc de Triomphe, is reserved exclusively for hotel guests and those dining at Le Cinq. The wine tasting sessions are complimentary.
